Marc’s Lounge in Charlottetown was the place to be for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumni on Thursday, April 14, 2022 as Vice-President, Advancement (Interim) Nancy Handrigan ('92), and Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Oonagh Proudfoot ('93, '06) welcomed guests to an in-person event on Prince Edward Island.

Saint John, NB, was the second stop on our Maritime swing this week and an enthusiastic group of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumni were on hand at Gahan House Port City for a lovely in-person gathering.

We are back on the road again, and were delighted to join ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumni at the Gusto Italian Grill and Bar in Moncton, New Brunswick on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 for an in-person gathering.

The Church Brewing Company in Wolfville, Nova Scotia has partnered with ÍøÆسԹÏ’s student newspaper, The Athenaeum, to support aspiring journalists by contributing to The Athenaeum Journalism Award.

It’s likely that many in the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï community are unaware that the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Alumni Association appoints 12 people to the University’s Board of Governors.

These appointments are well worth acknowledging and celebrating, especially since this diverse array of volunteers lend significant and valuable experience and expertise to the University, its leadership and members of the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï community. The Alumni Association Vice-President (appointed in their second year), President (for their two-year term) and Past-President (for their one-year term) hold two of the 12 appointments to the Board of Governors at any given time. Donalda MacBeath (’75) and Matt Rios (’14) currently fulfill these roles.

To say that Lucas Oickle (’13) has hit all the right notes before and after graduation would be an understatement. A gifted and talented composer and educator, Lucas has created over 30 new works and had numerous commissions and performances by professional ensembles since 2013. His continued success as a composer has brought great pride to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and is one of the reasons why he is the 2022 recipient of the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
