Tutoring

The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Tutoring Service connects you with the academic help you need, when you need it. Sessions with our faculty-recommended tutors start at $20/hour. We are also happy to recommend free tutorials and help centres.

Find a Tutor

Simply email us at tutoring@acadiau.ca. Make sure to include:

  • your name
  • your student number
  • the name and number of the course for which you’d like a tutor (e.g.: BUSI 1013 – Financial Accounting I) 
  • the name of the professor for this course

You will be asked to review and sign a tutoring agreement form (PDF). Please contact the tutoring coordinator if you have any questions.

The Business and Economics Help Desk offers support for students first-year courses:

Chemistry Help Centre

The is a free service open to all students in all chemistry courses (introductory, organic, biochemistry, inorganic, analytical, physical) for help with their assignments, lab write-ups and general course questions.

ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Statistical Consulting Centre (SCC)

Statistician On-call: 

The ÍøÆسԹϠStatistical Consulting Centre (SCC) provides free statistical advice to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï community members, addressing problems from ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï faculty, staff and students. Work is carried out by experienced faculty consultants.

The Centre offers a number of services, including

  • designing and evaluating experiments and sampling schemes
  • conducting exploratory data analysis
  • advising on the choice of statistical methods
  • assisting in the interpretation and presentation of statistical results, including computer output (Minitab, SAS, SPSS, R, etc.)

Appointments can be made by calling the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at 585-1382, or emailing ying.zhang@acadiau.ca.

SCC is located within the Department of Mathematics & Statistics in Room 151, Huggins Science Hall.

Computer Science

You can book appointments with the School's Computer Technician, Ibrahim Rashid, by emailing him at cs.consultant@acadiau.ca. He is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. He is located in CAR 209.

Biology Help Centre

The Biology Help Centre is available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 9 pm in Room 230 of MacAskill Hall (Biology Building). Our awesome third- and fourth-year students that are ready to help with any biology-related questions from first- and second-year courses. We are here to help with lab reports, assignments, course material, midterm review, or just offer a place to chill out and study with other biology students! The first session will be held on September 16, and the last session will be December 4.

Kinesiology Help Centre

The School of Kinesiology is pleased to announce the creation of the Academic Support for Kinesiology students (ASK) drop-in help centre.

Located in AAC 386, this drop-in centre will have a pair of teaching assistants available to help.
