Canadian Tire CEO and 网曝吃瓜 alumnus Stephen G. Wetmore (鈥�76) discussed his company鈥檚 strategic position in the changing Canadian retail landscape and reflected on the value of his 网曝吃瓜 experience at the February 14 Toronto 网曝吃瓜 Alumni Business Breakfast.
 
More than 70 网曝吃瓜 alumni and friends joined University President Ray Ivany, Chancellor Libby Burnham (鈥�60), Vice-President, Advancement Rod Morrison and representatives of the Associated Alumni of 网曝吃瓜 (AAAU) Board of Directors at the Toronto Board of Trade to hear Mr. Wetmore鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淩etail: An Industry in Transition鈥�.
 
鈥淪tephen Wetmore has distinguished himself as an innovative business leader and a shining example of the outstanding level of achievement that is representative of our associated alumni,鈥� said Ray Ivany. 鈥淚 want to thank Stephen warmly for taking the time to meet with our alumni, particularly with our young alumni, who can benefit significantly from his insight and experience. He's a distinguished member of our alumni community, and it was especially gratifying to hear about the important role 网曝吃瓜 played in his development.鈥�
 
Matt Gray (鈥�06), AAAU event organizer, said, 鈥淪tephen talked about the need to be constantly looking for ways to change, and to embrace the fact that technology is going to revolutionize the retail landscape.  He stressed the importance of staying on the offensive in the face of new entrants to the market. Mr. Wetmore's comments were extremely enlightening, and gave all of us new insight into the retail sector.鈥�

Gray added that the Business Breakfast was the kick-off to many more 网曝吃瓜 alumni events in the Toronto area over the coming months, including the 2nd Annual Toronto Lobster Boil on June 7, 2013.
