The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Axemen and Axewomen basketball teams are on their way to the 2012 Subway AUS Final 6 championships this weekend.

The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Axewomen, who finished first in the conference with a 17-3 record and are currently ranked #7 in the nation, earned a first-round bye. They will open their AUS championship weekend at St. FX in Antigonish on Saturday, March 3 at 6 p.m. The championship game goes Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m.

All games for the AUS Women’s Basketball Championship hosted by St. F.X. will be webcasted on SSN – .

At the Halifax Metro Centre, the second-place Axemen, who finished the regular season at 14-6, will take to the court Saturday, March 3 at 8:15 p.m. in semi-final #2 after earning a first-round bye into the Final 6 tournament. The championship game is slated for Sunday afternoon, March 4 at 2 p.m.

A special table will be set up behind Section 6: alumni and students are invited to visit and pick up a free T-shirt while supplies last. If you have a T-shirt from last year, bring it along.
