Conservationist honoured

Ducks Unlimited Canada honoured long-time volunteer and ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï alumnus Hugh Fairn (’52) for his commitment to wetland conservation by dedicating the Sheffield Mills Marsh in the Annapolis Valley to him on Aug. 23, 2013. Fairn has been a DUC supporter since the late 1960s and spent time as a director on the DUC board. Joining him at the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the site are: left, Arthur Irving (’52), DUC volunteer since 1976 and former DUC president in 1986 and 1987; Fairn; past DUC director Joe Hickman, QC; and John Waugh, former eastern regional manager of DUC and retired engineer who has been heavily involved in all DUC wetland projects.
