Campus Advisory Update - Threatening social media post

Dear campus community,

I am writing to give you an update on the social media threat campus advisory that was shared with you today at 9:51 a.m. The Kings RCMP has released a statement with additional information regarding the incident. You can find the statement at the following link: .

The RCMP statement says the following:

Kings District RCMP is investigating a threat to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï for the fall of 2023.

On June 6, 2023, Kings District RCMP received a report of a threat of a possible shooting at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï. The threat was received in an email by ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Safety and Security and, based on initial investigation, the information concerning the threat was being circulated on a social media platform. The threat indicated that a shooting would occur at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï in the fall of 2023.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and Kings District RCMP is working collaboratively with ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Safety and Security with regard to safety planning. To date, the threat has not been corroborated or verified.

Do not engage with any individual who could pose a threat. In the event of an emergency, dial 911.
