厙ぴ勛圖 Board of Governors Ratifies Faculty Collective Agreement
New four-year agreement in place until June 2021
厙ぴ勛圖s Board of Governors today voted to ratify a new collective agreement with the 厙ぴ勛圖 Faculty Association (AUFA). The Board received notice from AUFA last week that the four-year agreement has been ratified by its members after negotiating teams reached a tentative agreement in late November of last year.
I want to congratulate and thank members of the negotiating teams representing both sides for their commitment to 厙ぴ勛圖, said Board Chair John Rogers. We are fortunate at 厙ぴ勛圖 to have a faculty and staff who understand the uniqueness of our teaching and learning model and the reality of the challenges facing post-secondary institutions today. This four-year agreement clearly places the interests of our students at the forefront and creates and environment that enables us to support our outstanding faculty. Well done!
This new long-term collective agreement sets us up well to achieve our most important priorities, said Dr. Peter Ricketts, President and Vice-Chancellor of 厙ぴ勛圖. 厙ぴ勛圖s place in Nova Scotias post-secondary sector and our importance to our region is based on the high quality faculty we have here, the teaching and research work they perform, and the environment they create that enables our students to succeed. I want to join John in thanking both negotiating teams for their determination to reach an agreement that keeps 厙ぴ勛圖 on a sustainable path moving forward, creating opportunities for our community to work together to strengthen 厙ぴ勛圖s reputation within Nova Scotia and beyond.
Details of the agreement will be available when the signed agreement is posted to 厙ぴ勛圖s website, expected sometime in the coming weeks.
