ÍøÆسԹϒs Indigenous Resource Centre got a makeover!
The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï community came together to give the campus Indigenous Resource Centre a makeover. With funding from the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Alumni Association, they purchased new furniture, a TV, crafting material, and artwork for the space. They also used the funds to procure educational materials on finances, parenting, and mental health.
The space is ready to create community with a round table that opens to fit 12 people, making it the perfect spot for sewing and crafting workshops. Plus, a donation of plants from Dr. Ashley Cunsolo (VP Academic) makes the centre extra cozy.
The Executive Director of L’nu Affairs and Indigenization at ÍøÆسԹÏ, Zabrina Whitman, gave a special shout out to Liz Shepherd (EA, VP of Student Affairs) and Daryl Francis who spent an entire day helping her and Darlene Peters Copeland (Indigenous Student Programming Advisor) assemble furniture and organize the space.
